Speaker: Jessica Verhagen, Development Executive at Axine Water Technologies

Axine has developed the world’s cleanest, safest and lowest cost solution for treating toxic organic pollutants in industrial wastewater. Axine’s service model provides customers access to the technology with no upfront capital across multiple industries. As Business Development Executive, Jessica supports sales operations, executes market analysis and lead generation, manages accounts, and builds partnerships. She also supports the CEO in raising capital and developing the marketing and business strategy. Jessica has more than a decade of experience at the intersection of environment and finance. She previously worked for the B.C. Ministry of Energy and Mines, and the B.C. Climate Action Secretariat.

The Resource & Environment Speaker Series is a part of the professional development program in the Master in Food and Resource Economics (MFRE) Program. It provides an opportunity to interact with a range of people either influencing environmental policy, or shaping the natural environment through their activities. A typical list includes: government officials, industry leaders, pioneers in resource management, non-governmental organizations, and even academics. The series is designed to be a glimpse into the complexities of ‘real’ world environmental economics and policy.
